Liah knows how to sit up, but she is learning to crawl. What does that mean? It means she ends up like this a lot:

Liah attented her first every birthday party a couple of weeks ago (yes, I know I’m late). She had a great time celebrating her pal Rohan turning 1-year old! Of course, mom and dad had a great time too. I especially liked the photo/video/music slideshow Rahul created (sorry, it’s not online!) To mark the occasion, Liah busted out her favorite Indian outfit!
She was too adorable! (I’m just slightly biased.) I can’t really get my head around just how many birthday parties Liah (and her parents!) are going to be attending over the next many years, but I’m excited she went to her very first.
You can see my photos from the party by clicking on either of the above pictures, or you can just click here.
Of course, you are encouraged to leave comments and vote for your favorites. In addition, I’ve updated my photo album software, so it is easier to order prints!
Hello again! Yes, I’m back after another lengthy blog absence. I hope you all didn’t miss me too much. You can look forward to a few catch up posts, but I figure I’d start off with a real time update. So what’s going on? Well, I’m living the single life these days. Aparna & Liah are in Atlanta visiting Rani, Irma, and Manish. A little cousin-sister bonding between Liah and Rani! I wasn’t able to head out due to work, so I’m getting a little "Mo time." What does that mean? Well, allow me to share you with my dinner tonight:

Well, it sure didn’t take long Liah to figure out her dad…

Now this is a little more like it… my blog is getting a little visibility.
You can add your anonymous mark to my visitor map by simply clicking on the little icon to the left labeled "Map of Site Visitors."
Believe it or not, I’m pretty sure who most of the visitors are. Even the ones in India. And the one in Alabama. Though I must admit I have no idea who the lone visitor from Sweden is!
Liah is 6 months old today. Hard to believe. I’ll admit that I still look at her and can’t believe I’m her dad. Oh, it isn’t so hard being her dad now, but even after six months I can’t picture myself as the father of a teenage girl. Thankfully I’ve got about 13 years to get ready.
I just posted a fantastic photo album (if I do say so myself) of photos from Liah’s 5th and 6th months. You can find it here.
It’s been a great six months. All the stories I heard from friends and family with kids apply. It’s a ton of work, and I can’t imagine life without Liah.
Six months is a great age too. Liah recognizes us, and it couldn’t be easier to bring a smile to her face. She’s sitting up and appears to be on the verge of crawling. She makes all sorts of sounds, and loves to poke at things with her hands.
And let’s not forget mommy Aparna. She and I are a team that have managed to find a harmony in raising Liah. For example, right now I can hear her angelic voice telling me to "get off the computer" and "change your baby’s diaper you do nothing dad." Ahhhhh… the sweet sounds of love.
ok, I better go.
The last batch of holiday photos I have for you are from the (traditional) new years party at Mike and Amy’s house. We’ve been two years in a row now, and always have a great time. This year was marred by the appearance of Jay Moore , but it isn’t everyday one gets to feed a starving actor.
Liah had a great time at her first new years party. She partied it up with her pal Rohan while her parents wondered if 11pm was too early to call it a night.
If you looked at my Christmas albums, you noticed there were lots of presents. Well, most of them were for my favorite girls, Anila, Rani, and Liah, but Daddy Mo was given a few gifts. So without further ado, I present to you "Gifts that make Mo happy"

As you might guess, we had a great Christmas season, and here’s the main reason why.

One of the best aspects of being back in Texas is being closer to family. Not just in Dallas and Corpus, but in Atlanta and New York. Because of the new closeness, we were able to see the entire family over the holidays. We first went to Corpus to celebrate Christmas with my in-laws, and returned home on Christmas day to finish celebrating the holidays with Aparna’s in-laws!
Of course, before all that, we hosted a Christmas party. Yes, we do seem to like the holiday themed parties. It didn’t have quite the zaniness of our Halloween party, but we still had a great time. Aparna is quite the party planner!
You say you want to see pictures? Well, your wish is my command. I’ve got photos from all three events here.
…or you can go to each album seperately.
If you’re short on time, at least check out the Christmas in Corpus and Austin albums. There are some great photos of Anila and Liah, as well as Liah and Rani.
Oh heck, I’ll give you a couple of previews…

Liah was just as excited as her dad when UT won the national championship. Need proof? Ok.

2005 National Champions!

Happy New Year to all my fellow snagabagers.
Aparna, Liah, & I celebrated the arrival of 2006 with our Austin crew, and I’m happy to report we were home by 1. Ahhhh…the things that make you happy when you’re 32.
We’re in Houston now visiting friends and family. Tomorrow we might actually leave Liah with some family friends so we might actually be able to have time for one of the more elusive joys of being a new parent… seeing a movie at a movie theater. Oh, I still find time for watching shows at Moews Cinema, but there still something to be said for the BIG screen.
Finally, I’m way behind on photos…so look for updates soon from our Christmas party, Christmas itself, and New Years.
