Belated Holidays

3 years ago on Tuesday, December 13th, 2005, in the wee hours

Oh man, SO much has happened since I last wrote …but yet this first entry in almost two weeks will be about events before December. Yep, I’m finally pointing you all to my photos from (by far) my two favorite holidays of the year, Halloween and Thanksgiving. For Halloween, we threw our first party at our new house. It was easily the most people we have had over. I think things went quite well. There were tons of Halloween decorations, lots of sweets and snacks, and I even helped prepare for the party!

Yep, that’s me counting candy for the "guess how many pieces of candy are in the jar" game we played. At this point, I don’t remember how many pieces I counted, but I do know it was over 500! The best part was when I asked a few people why they only guessed 100 or 200 pieces when clearly there were more. They told me they figured I had put something large in the middle of the container and then surrounded it with pieces of candy. Oh if was only as clever as my reputation! We had all of our friends kids over for the party, and seeing them dressed up was a hoot! Yes, a hoot.

Aparna & forced our guests to play even more games, including the "Mummy Game." This is where you form teams and each team has to wrap one member from head to toe in toilet paper. First time to finish wins. I must say, it was a frantic few minutes with toilet paper flying all over the place. In the end Priya’s team won and as a prize she got to keep the toilet paper!

Did I say "Priya" won? I did! Yep, Mrs. Ninny was in town visiting family, and we were fortunate enough to have her and her family come by for the party. Liah was very excited to meet her!

Click here to see photos from Halloween 2005. Ok, I lied. This will just be about Halloween. It’s late so you’ll have to wait until the morning for Thanksgiving.

  1. [...] Of course, before all that, we hosted a Christmas party.  Yes, we do seem like to the holiday themed parties.  It didn’t have quite the zaniness of our Halloween party, but we still had a great time.  Aparna is quite the party planner! [...]
