‘Twas the night…

December 25th, 2005, in the wee hours

The cookies and milk (and petit fours!) are waiting for Santa.  The presents are under the tree.  All that left is to go to sleep and dream of sugerplums and video iPods.

So from everyone here at snagabag (i.e. - me), I hope you have a Merry Christmas!

Happy Holidays!

There you are

Well, at least now I have an idea where you all are. Not too many snagabag fans in the midwest, eh?

Just click on the “Map of Site Visitors” image to the left to get a bigger picture (pun intended) of who has been here.

Where are you?

Hello!

I just added a new feature to my blog. It is the image in the upper right. You can click the image to see my Guestmap.

So what is my Guestmap?

It’s a map that shows where the visitors to my website are located. I’ve accepted the fact just about all of you don’t want to post replies here, but I’m hoping you’ll let me see where you are. Ok, not YOU personally since it is anonymous, but you get the idea.

Just click on the image that says “Map of Site Visitors” and you can see the locations of others who have visited my site.

It’s not entirely accurate, as you’ll notice from the marker that is just off the coast of the Isle of Man just to the west of England.

Thanks!

Ok, time for Thanksgiving. Now is not the time to point out it is just over a week until Christmas. So yeah, I’m finally directing you all to my photo album from Thankgiving in Plano. Please click here to see the photos. We spent the holidays with my parents and MKG Productions. And by that I mean we spent time with mom and dad watching Maneesh sleep. But when he wasn’t sleeping, we did some serious bonding. Hrmmm…ok, how about this one? Yes, it’s Goyal bonding. Maneesh holds my daughter, while I try to figure out why his noise cancelling headphones don’t work, while we both wear scarves our mom recently made for us. We were also able to see a few of our friends while in Dallas, and that included MEERA! We finally met Shilpi and Raja’s little girl who’s almost the same age as Liah! As I said in my last post, Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays, and it lived up to my expectations again. We had a great time (not including the Cowboys awful loss to the Broncos). Click on any of the photos below to be taken to my photo album for the holiday.

Belated Holidays

December 13th, 2005, in the wee hours

Oh man, SO much has happened since I last wrote …but yet this first entry in almost two weeks will be about events before December. Yep, I’m finally pointing you all to my photos from (by far) my two favorite holidays of the year, Halloween and Thanksgiving. For Halloween, we threw our first party at our new house. It was easily the most people we have had over. I think things went quite well. There were tons of Halloween decorations, lots of sweets and snacks, and I even helped prepare for the party!

Yep, that’s me counting candy for the "guess how many pieces of candy are in the jar" game we played. At this point, I don’t remember how many pieces I counted, but I do know it was over 500! The best part was when I asked a few people why they only guessed 100 or 200 pieces when clearly there were more. They told me they figured I had put something large in the middle of the container and then surrounded it with pieces of candy. Oh if was only as clever as my reputation! We had all of our friends kids over for the party, and seeing them dressed up was a hoot! Yes, a hoot.

Aparna & forced our guests to play even more games, including the "Mummy Game." This is where you form teams and each team has to wrap one member from head to toe in toilet paper. First time to finish wins. I must say, it was a frantic few minutes with toilet paper flying all over the place. In the end Priya’s team won and as a prize she got to keep the toilet paper!

Did I say "Priya" won? I did! Yep, Mrs. Ninny was in town visiting family, and we were fortunate enough to have her and her family come by for the party. Liah was very excited to meet her!

Click here to see photos from Halloween 2005. Ok, I lied. This will just be about Halloween. It’s late so you’ll have to wait until the morning for Thanksgiving.

Trying to catch up on my blog…

The last trip I took before starting my new job was to (drum roll please) OHIO! Yes, the state that screwed us all by voting for Bush in 2004. The Goyal family (that’s Aparna, Liah, and yours truly for those you who aren’t paying attention) went to visit family in (another drum roll please) CLEVELAND and AKRON! Yes, I know you all are truly jealous now.

We had a great time hanging out with the Bandis and the Guptas. Of course, what really made the trip was the Cowboy’s amazing win against the Eagles on Monday night.

Did I take pictures? What do you think? Click on any of them to see the album, or just click here to see the slideshow.

One item I must point out was when we went to my aunt and uncle’s house in Grafton. My uncle actually changed his fligh to India to a later time so he could meet Liah, which was very cool. However, another unexpected bonus came when I was doing my customary walk through of the house. I really like looking at houses, not only the first time I visit, but also if I haven’t been back in a long while. Well, I hadn’t been to Cleveland in over a year, so I took a stroll around the house. Imagine my delight when I walked into Ajay’s old bedroom and saw this:

Cowboys

No, not the yellow bed! The Cowboys posters! They are so great. Ajay also has an old school NFL poster featuring all 28teams. I used to have the same poster up on my wall. Yep, those are some nice posters.

I’ve been checking this out for over a month, and I figured I’d better post about it now if you all are going to have a chance to see it before it goes away.

What is it? It’s a high quality, remote controlled webcam that National Geographic has installed in Africa. Specifically, at Pete’s Pond.

If you are watching at the right time (or check out the video highlights) you can see animals “in the wild” just doing their thing. It’s pretty cool. Well, I think it’s pretty cool.

This made me chuckle. (compliments of Shilpi.)
